"I love the Cardinals. I still remember when I saw the first one ever in the Magnolia tree of my mother in law in New Jersey. That red, so beautiful! On lucky days, I can spot them from the kitchen window of the NYC apartment in the trees of the garden next door and they add beautiful color highlights to Central Park covered in snow in winter.
On Fire Island they often sing in the pines next to the porch behind our house where I usually sit and work in the mornings. I always take a break then and watch and listen and enjoy that moment of happiness."
